About Work 2 Home
Work 2 Home is a nonprofit workforce development and job training program. W2H is dedicated to educating, training, and supporting youth and young adults from historically excluded and underrepresented communities in developing skills that promote self-sufficiency from work to home.
W2H’s programs follow a comprehensive Workforce Development model that attentively addresses the needs of youth aging out of the foster care system and facing homelessness. In an effort to combat housing insecurity, W2H places emphasis on not only technical skills training, but also wrap-around services. The program staff are seasoned professionals in working across for profit, nonprofit and government industries.
Our Story
Work To Home (W2H) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2021 by Tracy Nolan, founder and CEO of The Nolan Group. After 20 years of successfully providing workforce development and job training programs for government agencies, she realized how many youth and young adults were not able to overcome the opportunity divide in BIPOC communities.
Tracy has always felt compassion and concern for those less fortunate in our communities, particularly with the youth in these underserved communities. For that reason, she began volunteering at local nonprofits to make a difference. During an event, she met a young woman who shared she was facing homelessness because she aged out of foster care. That encounter left an impression and was the inspiration that led her to start an organization that would help to eliminate many of the plagues associated with youth poverty and homelessness. In 2021, Tracy launched Work2Home.
Tracy has served as a mentor, trainor or volunteer at Charlotte-Life Connections, Charlotte-Urban Sauce Connection, Talented Girls In Action, and Baltimore-Community Action Network.
